Overall, the best broom we tested was the O-Cedar Pet Pro Broom. The broom passed every test with flying colors, leaving us impressed with many of its features.
The set comes with the broom head and a metal handle. The handle arrives in three pieces that need to simply get screwed together. The handle is metal, so it’s a bit heavier than some of the other brooms on our list. However, we liked the heft and felt the material ensured the broom would be more durable than others.
The broom’s bristles were sturdy and flexible, a unique double-bristle design means it’s made of two types. The firm black bristles got all the more significant debris, while the softer gray bristles served as a double check to sweep up any bits left behind. We also liked the slightly angled design on the broom head since it made it easier to get under furniture and into corners.
Another unique aspect of this set is the included dustpan. The handle is angled, so you simply step on the handle with your foot while sweeping debris into the dustpan. Not only does this create a strong seal with the floor, but it also means you won’t have to bend over in an awkward position to sweep up debris. There’s also a built-in comb on the dustpan to clean the bristles, a nice added feature.

The Casabella Basics Angled Broom and Dustpan Cleaning Set is less expensive than other options and easy to assemble, making it one of the best brooms we tested. This basic broom set comes with a three-piece handle that quickly gets put together, a broom head, and a dustbin.
At just over 11 inches wide, this is one of the smaller broom heads on our list. We didn’t think the size was a dealbreaker, however, as it may help some people who need to get into tight spaces.
We noted that the plastic bristles were flexible and full and performed well in most tests. However, they did leave behind minor bits of debris when we were testing it with sawdust. Because they were so flexible, they may need to be more sturdy to sweep up small bits.
Along with the broom handle and head, this set includes a dustbin. We love that the dustbin snaps onto the broom base for easy storage and space savings. There’s an included comb on the dustbin body, but the comb is small, and in our tests, it wasn’t very effective in removing hair, which had to be done by hand.

The OXO Good Grips Large Sweep Set passed all our cleaning tests with flying colors. The set includes a broom and a separate dustbin. With its long handle, there’s no need to lean over when cleaning. While the broom has an extendable handle that can quickly move from 39 to 54.75 inches, the dustpan handle stays 39 inches tall.
We found the broom was lightweight but sturdy enough to work well and maneuver between and under furniture well. Overall, the broom was effective in our tests. It did leave behind a bit of debris on the first pass, but after just a few passes, the messes were cleaned entirely.
We liked how the dustbin was locked in place, so when it was down for collection, there was no chance of it spilling out the swept-up debris.
The dustpan attaches to the broom and folds up for storage. The slim design means it doesn’t take up too much space, so it’s suitable for those with limited storage or small homes. During testing we found that occasionally, upon folding and storing the dustpan, some bristles got caught and bent out of shape. It’s easy to remedy, and if you are aware, you can quickly free any trapped bristles.

The FURemover Pet Hair Rubber Broom is the best broom for picking up pet hair. The innovative tool is almost like a carpet scraper with a telescoping handle extending from 36 to 60 inches long. Run it along a carpet, and the rubber bristles will easily capture the pet hair.
On one side of the broom head is a squeegee for collecting liquids. We found the squeegee side was pretty effective at moving liquids around, but it didn’t absorb them like a mop, so you may not be able to rely on it as an effective cleaning tool. We also noted that some debris took a lot of work to clean.
The wide design limits maneuverability, so it’s best used on carpeted surfaces. Lightweight and less expensive than other options, we still think this choice is a wise investment if you’ve got a pet that sheds a lot.

The KeFanta Push Broom is a larger, heavy-duty broom that comes with a 63-inch handle, which is longer than other options. Though it’s not adjustable, the broom base attaches at a 45-degree angle, so it’s comfortable to use and you won’t need to bend over to use the broom.
At 24 inches wide, this push broom is easy to use outdoors and would be great for pushing leaves, yard debris, and even light snow around. The broom performed well when it came to moving the more oversized test materials around during testing, but the smaller materials got stuck in the bristles.

For an indoor/outdoor option, the best broom is the versatile Libman Precision Angle Broom. This pick boasts a sturdy metal handle and bristles made out of a material created with recycled water bottles.
In our tests, we praised the bristle material for being flexible and firm to sweep up small household particulates and larger outdoor debris like leaves and yard waste. There’s an angled cut on the bottom of the broom which helps reach corners, around furniture, or into other tight crevices in your home.
We tested this broom on several surfaces and found that when it came to harder surfaces, it took a few sweeps to get the area totally clean. Though not a dealbreaker, it’s worth keeping in mind depending on your needs.

The Yocada Heavy-Duty Broom is made from a 54-inch plastic pole that easily assembles from three parts and a broom head with polypropylene bristles. In our sweeping tests, this heavy-duty broom passed every test with flying colors. It effectively removed all debris in its path and achieved a clean sweep.
We noted padding on the top of the handle intended for extra comfort. We didn’t think it was placed in the most logical spot, however, so we thought it was a bit of a wasted feature.
Ideal for indoors or outdoors, the bristles on this broom are firm and flexible, so they’re able to handle big and small needs. We appreciated that the broom is not oversized, so the head could still effectively fit under furniture and was easy to maneuver. There’s no dustpan included, so you’ll need to supply your own.

For an old-fashioned style, the best broom is the Rubbermaid Heavy-Duty Corn Broom. While the round wooden handle was quite comfortable, we shared that there’s no padding on this pick, so if you’re sweeping an extensive job, you may want to consider wearing gloves to avoid blisters.
In our tests, the broom performed well on flat surfaces when sweeping larger debris. When we moved to small debris tests, the broom could not sweep up all the materials as the bristles were too thick and stiff to get it all up.
We faced some challenges during our hair test as well. The hair got twisted and stuck in the dense bristles, so we needed to remove the trapped hair by hand. Additionally, the flat bottom and thick bristles made it very hard to get into corners or around furniture-the broom just wasn’t able to maneuver like others on our list could.
