Get Ready to Level Up Your Grilled Cheese—Kraft Singles Released 3 New Flavors

You’ll be able to get your favorite American cheese in spicy, garlicky, and savory flavors.

Oh, Kraft Singles. The brand is practically a hallmark of American cheese: They come pre-sliced, ready to use, and the most ideal for melting onto any sandwich or burger. But even the classics need a revamp every once in a while—for the first time in nearly a decade, you're going to be able give your grilled cheese a flavor boost without adding any other ingredients.

Launched January 17, Kraft is coming out with three new flavors of Singles: Jalapeño, Garlic and Herb, and Caramelized Onion. This is a big expansion for the cheese slices section in general—most only come in one flavor (which is cheese).

The Kraft Heinz Company is responsible for many beloved staple sauces and ingredients, from households to restaurants. You might not even be used to hearing the name "Kraft" without automatically thinking of Kraft mac n’ cheese (another fan-favorite cheese product from the food company). Last January, new flavors were added to the mac n’ cheese lineup. Now, the brand is updating the cheese itself.

The addition of these flavors means a whole new world for cheese-melters, whether you’re trying to level up your grilled cheese or experiment with a new style of burger, they give you plenty of options for creating different flavor profiles without actually having to chop up a jalapeño or mince a clove of garlic.

Kraft gave some sandwich recipe recommendations in a statement: a ham and cheese panini with the Caramelized Onion Singles, a steak sandwich spiced up with Jalapeño Singles, and a chicken parm packed with flavor from Garlic and Herbs Singles.

"In response to U.S. cheese consumers’ growing interest in exploring new flavors, our research identified that bold profiles like spicy (Jalapeño), garlicky (Garlic and Herb), and savory (Caramelized Onion) have the highest appeal," the company shared. "These additions address a current gap in the market, by transforming ordinary sandwiches into culinary delights and solidifying Kraft Singles at the forefront of American cheese innovation."

While it's processed and definitely nothing fancy, chefs everywhere agree that American cheese's "meltability is unparalleled," and it should be respected. In addition to the obvious sandwich, use it in your quesadillas, as a topping for your chili cheese fries, and to your Instant ramen for a little more creaminess.

If you’re wondering where you can find these flavored (or regular) Kraft Singles cheeses, check your go-to grocery stores. The flavors are currently rolling out, so don’t be too disappointed if you can't find them right away. The brand is available in many major retailers, including Target, Kroger, and Walmart, as well as local shops. You can also get them through online retailers like Amazon. The flavored Kraft Singles packs come with 16 slices of cheese.
