One of the only sheet sets we tested to earn perfect marks in all six categories, the Olive + Crate Cooling Eucalyptus Sheets worked for even the hottest of sleepers. We felt cooler after simply handling the sheets, and lying in bed, we continued to be impressed with their cooling ability.
We tested the sheets at home for three months. After one month, the sheets felt just as cooling as they’d been out of the packaging and we noticed our sleep had improved. Overall, we fell in love with the smooth and satiny feel of these sheets, which felt more like silk than cotton.
The price really sets these apart as some of the best sheets you can buy. At less than $200 for most sizes, these are a steal for the quality. Throughout the testing period, we didn’t see any piling, but after three months some of the pillowcase seams started to come loose.
By the end, the sheet set still felt cool when we slept on it and was still smooth and soft after frequent washes. The sheets are available in a handful of serene colors beyond white and gray, like sage and basalt blue (which we loved).
The one downside we noticed is that there’s no tag indicating the top and bottom of the fitted sheet, which adds some guesswork when making the bed. Still, it’s not too much of a con when you consider all the benefits of these sheets.

The top sheet wrinkles easily.
The Quince Organic Bamboo Sheet Set is proof that you don’t have to break the bank for high-quality, organic sheets. We were shocked when the price was revealed—under $100 for silky bamboo sheets is a serious deal.
These are a great option if you’re on a budget, as the super-soft texture and incredible breathability make these the perfect dupe for designer bamboo sheets. We washed them about ten times during a month-long testing period, and the sheets remained in excellent condition.
These sheets felt refreshing to sleep in—if you run hot, they’ll likely be a great option. We were also impressed by the fit; both the fitted sheet and the pillowcase fit our mattress and pillows like a glove, with no extra fabric or popped-up corners. And that didn’t change throughout the month.
One thing to note: We noticed some slight messiness in the stitching when we got up very, very close. Unlike hand-stitched or hand-embroidered luxury sheets, these had some uneven lines and a couple of loose threads.
We highly recommend these sheets for anyone who wants a comfortable plus cooling sheet at a decent price. The only other negative we noticed is that the top sheet tends to get wrinkly very easily, especially if we didn’t take them out of the dryer as soon as the cycle was done.

The most expensive set of sheets we tested, the Coyuchi Organic Relaxed Linen Sheets, are worth the splurge compared to other luxury bedding brands. The French flax linen is very high quality, showing no signs of color fading, abrasion, pilling, or fabric shrinkage after washing.
We found the fitted sheet a bit loose for our mattress at home, but that might be because we tested it on a full rather than a queen. The sheets continued to fit exactly the same throughout the testing period. In fact, the only change we noticed was that they got softer over time.
The sheets became our go-tos come summer time; we found them incredibly breathable and comfortable on hot nights. We did notice slight staining, especially in the area where the body touches the sheets overnight, but nothing major.
For the price, we were a little surprised the sheets didn’t come with labels indicating the top and bottom and short and long sides of the sheets, as this is a detail many luxury bedding brands are adding these days.
These sheets also aren’t available in twin sizes, which is a bit of a bummer. That said, if you have a larger bed and want to splurge on a bit of luxury, Coyuchi makes the best sheets we’ve tried in this arena.

We noticed significant thinning and pilling during the lab abrasion tests.
Parachute’s signature linen sheets have the feel of heirloom linen napkins: soft but structured. The billowy material can be a bit cumbersome to tuck under a mattress as it isn’t as taut as other materials, such as percale cotton.
That said, the sheets fit properly on a 14-inch thick mattress—the corners did not slide off, even when we shifted positions as we slept. We did notice the fitted sheet loosening up throughout the week between washes, but they would shrink back down to size after washing.
Because they’re linen, the sheets get wrinkly pretty easily. To avoid wrinkles, we recommend folding the sheets immediately after taking them out of the dryer. After washing the set several times, they became slightly softer.
In terms of airflow and breathability, the sheets were pretty average, meaning they don’t trap heat easily, but they’re not necessarily cooling either. We think these would make a good compromise for couples with different sleep needs or for use in a guest bedroom.
We saw no shrinkage or fading post-wash. The abrasion test we performed in the lab yielded a significant amount of thinning and piling compared to other fabrics. However, this wasn’t an issue with regular wear-and-tear during six months of testing.
Top sheets are not included in the base sheet sets and can be purchased separately. Overall, if you can get around how wrinkly linen can get, we think it's worth the money for the quality and comfort.

The Lands’ End Premium Supima Cotton Percale Sheets made us long for a nap, we were so impressed by the buttery soft percale cotton. They don't have the papery, stiff texture found in some of the other sheets we tested.
But what really made these stand out was the breathability. Even though the sheets felt cool to the touch, we think they’d be a nice fit for just about any temperature preference, as they weren’t overly cooling when we lay on them.
Post-wash, the fabric came out looking relatively wrinkle-free. Like cotton clothing, the sheets did experience minimal fabric shrinkage—about a couple of inches in total—but the bed was still easy to make and the sheets fit comfortably.
As far as value is concerned, these are less expensive than luxury percale cotton sheets but have similarly impressive quality. However, at this price range, we would have liked to see organic cotton or chemical-free certifications.

The Coyuchi Cloud Brushed Flannel Sheets will keep cold sleepers warm, even on cool nights. We were impressed by how super thick and luxurious these sheets were—they reminded us of cashmere—yet they felt surprisingly breathable, making them a great option to layer under blankets.
In fact, the sheets were so warm that we felt we could use the top sheet on its own as a light blanket on slightly warmer nights. After two months of use, the sheets remained velvety soft, with no signs of tearing and snagging.
The sheets are available in three neutral colors that look and feel very natural. Those who run cold would especially appreciate how cozy these are, however, they’ll probably be too warm for someone who runs hot at night, even in the winter.

The color selection is more limited than other options from The Company Store.
The Legends Hotel Sateen Fitted Sheet was smoother and softer to the touch than many other fabrics we tested. This is due to its Tencel lyocell blend featuring eucalyptus fibers, and a 300 thread count which makes the fabric more breathable.
The fabric is incredibly lightweight compared to other Tencel sheets we tested. However, we did notice that the sheets wrinkled very easily. On the other hand, they were durable enough to withstand the friction from two dogs (including a black lab) sleeping on them every night.
We appreciated the tags that labeled the top and bottom for no-fuss bed-making. Elastic lining the entire inner rim of the fitted sheet helped it secure tightly on the mattress.
Value-wise, these sheets are a steal—even a king-sized set rings in under $100. Keep in mind that this specific blend isn’t available in The Company Store’s large library of colors. You can only buy them in ivory, buff (beige), sterling (gray), and misty lilac.

While sateen doesn’t have the same purported skin benefits as silk, the Brielle Home Sateen Sheet Set looks and feels a lot like real silk. Despite heavy use over six months, the fabric remained smooth and soft with no fraying or loose threads. The color also didn’t fade or change at all.
At under $100 for a full set, these sheets look a lot more high-end than they really are. For the price and the performance, they are a great value, especially in summer months or for those living in warmer climates—when we laid down on them on cold days it felt like touching ice!
That said, they warmed up pretty quickly and we still enjoyed them for colder weather as we could layer in warm pjs and blankets without overheating. There are only a few color options for this set, so if you’re looking for earth-toned neutrals or fun patterns, you won’t find them here.
We noticed that the sheets shrunk a little in the wash, but they still fit on our mattress easily. The material does tend to wrinkle, so keep that in mind.

The color selection isn’t very broad—mostly jewel tones and standard solids.
The Bampure Organic Bamboo Sheets check all the boxes for quality and value. We found these to be a great alternative to high-end bedding due to quality stitching compared to other sheets we tried.
Silky with a shiny finish, these would make an excellent vegan alternative to silk sheets. Because they’re thin, we were a little worried about how well they would hold up in the wash, but six months later the texture remained consistent, with no visible signs of wear and minimal shrinkage.
These are some of the best sheets if you run hot at night, as they always felt cool to the touch during testing. That said, because they’re so light, they might not be a good option to use in winter.
The only giveaway that these aren’t luxury designer sheets is the color selection—you won’t find soft neutrals. Instead, you can choose standard black, white, and gray, or from several bold jewel tones.
We think these are an excellent all-around buy for quality and price. Even better: we love that these include stretchy bands on the fitted sheet to ensure a snug fit at each corner of the mattress.

They are not as smooth and soft as we would have liked them to be.
Made with certified organic cotton, West Elm’s Organic Percale Sheets are a great buy. While cotton isn’t always the most luxurious material, we found these sheets felt substantial instead of flimsy, and the stitching was high quality compared to other options we tested.
The fabric held up well in the wash with no rips or snags throughout the month-long test. When making the bed, these sheets were some of the easiest to get on—the fitted sheet fit like a glove—but the pillowcases were slightly too small for our queen-sized pillows.
Initially, the sheets felt cooling, but after testing them in bed, we found they did retain some heat and became slightly warmer. The sheets have a rougher feel that reminded us of linen and weren’t quite as smooth or soft as we would have expected or preferred.
We love the variety of colors for this specific set; it’s one of the only sheets we tested with a striped option, which we think of as a linen closet staple that goes with almost any comforter or blanket.

If you prefer a silkier fabric but are not ready to splurge on real silk prices, these Lanest Housing Silk Satin Sheets are a budget-friendly alternative. They have a slick, smooth texture which always felt quite soft throughout our six-month testing period.
We found that they held up well the entire time—we never saw any sign of loose threads, stains, fading, or tears. Only after the third month did we notice a slight nubbiness to the texture, which didn’t affect the comfort but looked a bit less attractive.
We found the material breathable but not cooling, which could be a pro or a con depending on your preferences. The sheets were not as stain-resistant as we would have liked—we tested them against foundation, coffee, and oil, and none were fully removed in the wash
The set comes in a variety of colors and sizes, so you’ll be able to find one that suits your bedroom decor. If the pilling is likely to bother you, we’d recommend them more for a guest bedroom than as a main sheet set.

Adding a top sheet to your set is an additional $100.
If you prefer the breathability and feel of cotton, the Parachute Brushed Cotton Sheet Set is worth considering. The fabric felt soft and was more durable compared to many of the sheets we tested.
Over three months, the sheets got even softer, making them more comfortable for us to sleep on. Stains like coffee and blood from a minor cut easily came off the sheets in the wash. However, we weren’t able to remove foundation and oil completely during stain tests.
Overall, these sheets felt like they were the perfect weight for us—not too heavy or light. The set includes a fitted sheet and a pillowcase set and is offered in seven colors. You can add a top sheet to the set as well, for an additional $100.
One thing to note—the elastic around the fitted sheet wasn’t strong and tended to come off the mattress. Also, the sheets wrinkle a lot after washing, so you’ll have to get them out of the dryer ASAP if you want a smooth look.

Right out of the package, we noticed something very impressive about the Sweave Bedding Tencel Cooling Core Sheet Set: minimal wrinkles. If you love the look of crisp, wrinkle-free hotel bed sheets but don’t want to spend time ironing, these are a great shortcut.
They also remained fairly wrinkle-free right out of the dryer. We used them for a month in the summer and the sheets were always cooling, with a nice, silky texture. The Tencel lyocell and cotton blend give the sheets the best of both worlds—incredible softness and a lightweight feel.
We noted that the elastic on the fitted sheet is very strong, which is nice for keeping the sheet snug if you toss and turn, but does give you more resistance while making the bed. The price is decent and we felt like the sheets would likely last for a long time.

Despite the higher price tag, these sheets did not perform as well during the abrasion test.
If you're in the market for some great hemp sheets, the Tuft and Needle Hemp Sheet Set is a top option. We found these sheets thicker than most yet cool to the touch, so they could be a great choice for hot sleepers.
It typically takes hemp sheets some time to soften so we weren’t surprised that they seemed a little stiff coming out of the package. But after a few months they gradually became softer the more we used and washed them.
We were impressed by the quality right away. The sheets had no loose threads or fabric dye differences out of the package. They were also incredibly stain-resistant. Regardless of what we spilled—coffee, tea, and foundation—it all came out in the wash.
The pockets are 16 inches deep—suitable for an extra-thick mattress but possibly too large for a standard-size or smaller. For us, the fitted sheet was a little loose, but the corners held tight and stayed in place despite this. Still, it would be nice if there were other pocket sizes available.
Considering the price tag, the sheets were somewhat disappointing in terms of durability. Rubbing them with sandpaper during the abrasion test, we actually created a tear in the fabric. They might not be the best option for households with pets or young kids who might jump on the bed.
