Made of a bamboo viscose cotton blend, the Dangtop Cooling Blanket stood out for its cooling abilities in our tests. The thin blanket remained cool to the touch, even in the warm room we tested it in. It has a slightly textured design, but it still felt soft, not scratchy.
The blanket comes in four sizes suited for twin, full, queen, and king mattresses. Compared to the mattress size, each blanket provides around a foot of excess fabric, making this pick drape nicely with enough room to neatly tuck under three sides.
We were very impressed with this blanket, especially given its low price. The biggest downside is that we found it difficult to care for, and stains didn’t lift easily. The manufacturer recommends adding this to a laundry bag before washing on a delicate cycle in order to protect the fibers, an extra step that most blankets we tested didn’t require. The care instructions also recommend letting the blanket air dry, which we found to be an inconvenience.
Despite the additional care required, we found that this blanket’s cooling sensation was worth the extra hassle, especially given its price point.
How it Performed After Six Months
We used the blanket as a throw on our couch throughout multiple seasons. Even when the heat was on in our apartment, we never felt overly warm using it. With regular use, we didn’t find any snags or loose threads.

If you’re looking to invest, you may want to consider upgrading to a cooling comforter like the Ettitude Bamboo Comforter. Its organic bamboo fill felt light and breathable during our tests, and the outer lyocell shell felt soft and cool to the touch.
While its cooling abilities stood out, we found that this comforter was also able to keep us warm and cozy, making this a great pick for all seasons. It’s not as lightweight as other options we tested, but we never felt overheated. Plus, the fill didn’t shift while we tossed and turned under the comforter.
One downside to this pick is that it’s dry clean only, so it might not be ideal for children or those prone to staining. However, this pick makes for a great duvet insert as it includes sewn-in corner loops to secure to your duvet cover, which will also keep it protected from potential stains.
How It Performed After Two Months
While using this blanket in our own bed, we were happy that it didn’t trap in too much heat. We liked that the fill was quiet as we moved around, something you don’t always experience with a comforter. Weighted blankets can provide an extra sense of comfort, but with added weight, it’s easy to feel overheated while using one. The Gravity Cooling Weighted Blanket alleviates that concern, as we found it didn’t trap any heat during our testing.
The twin-sized blanket comes in 15 and 20 pound weight options, while the queen bed size weighs in at 35 pounds. It also comes in six colors, including shades of blue, pink, and green, and neutrals like brown and gray.
The lyocell cover is OEKO-TEX-certified and stayed cool to the touch throughout our testing. The weighted interior is filled with breathable cotton and glass beads that we thought felt evenly distributed.
We appreciated that the cover zips on and off for easy cleaning, and it can be laundered in the washing machine. Just keep in mind that the inner blanket will need to be hand washed, and we found some unraveled threads after our initial wash.
During testing we found that it was difficult to put the weighted interior blanket back in its cover, a pain point we found across all weighted blankets. That being said, the stains easily lifted from this pick, so this may be suited to spot cleaning rather than regular laundering.

The blanket comes in four sizes and four neutral colors, making it easy to match it with your existing bedding. Compared to other blankets we tested, the Cozy Earth blanket is a bit oversized, draping nicely and allowing it to tuck neatly under your mattress.
The waffle knit provides an attractive texture that’s nice to look at, but was a bit scratchy in our initial tests. Plus, the extra texture is more prone to snags and we found our fingernails caught a few times. With regular use, we didn’t notice any loose threads, but in our brush test, we created many snags—something that may be especially concerning if you have pets.
This blanket is machine washable. However, the stains we created didn’t lift easily. Because of this, we think this may be better suited for beds instead of as a throw on your couch where it may be used more often and stained more easily.

If you’re looking for something heavier than a blanket, we recommend the Rest Evercool Cooling Comforter, which can be used on its own or inserted into a duvet. After laying under the comforter for five minutes, we weren’t overheated and the fabric was still cool to the touch.
The comforter has a sewn through construction to keep the down alternative fill from shifting when you toss and turn. The outer shell is made of nylon and spandex, which aren’t traditionally cooling materials but stayed breathable in our tests. We also loved that the shell felt buttery-smooth and likened it to a bathing suit.
The twin, full/queen, and king sizes are offered in four reversible colors. The throw size comes in two different patterns made for kids. We weren’t fans of the bright blue swatch we tested since we thought it was difficult to style.
We appreciated that this comforter is machine washable and it dried quickly. However, after washing, some of the fill bunched along the edges, which may be concerning for long term use.

The Quince Orgainc Airy Gauze Blanket stands up to its name—we found this pick light and breezy during testing. The texture was delicate and soft to the touch. We were impressed with its quality and craftsmanship especially given that it’s less expensive than other options.
The breathable blanket is made of four thin gauze layers of organic cotton. It comes in seven attractive colors, making it a great pick to use as a top layer of bedding. While it’s not as heavy as other blankets we tested, it still draped well over our mattress.
The light, delicate build of this blanket is what makes it so breathable and cooling, but this was also its downfall in our durability tests. When we brushed the blanket with a pet brush, it took just three swipes to pull the weave apart. If you live with pets, even the smallest scratches could rip this blanket apart. That being said, with regular use and laundering, we didn’t notice any wear.

We loved using this blanket, especially in the warmer months. After multiple washes, the blanket looked great and we used it as an accent piece on our couch.
