Our first thought upon trying this Pottery Barn towel is that it was the softest towel we’d ever wrapped ourselves in. It’s a plush pick that’s highly absorbent and lightweight, but at 550 GSM, it’s not too thick. It’s also a quick-drying option—it completely dried after 60 minutes in the dryer.
The 100% Turkish cotton is exceptionally soft, making the towel perfectly fluffy. Even after washing and scrubbing at it in our durability test, it still looked and felt just like new. The foundation and mascara stains from our tests left no trace—meaning we won’t be afraid to use this as our everyday towel. And with 14 soothing colors, there are plenty of options to match nearly any decor.
While the price is on the higher end compared to other options, the quality makes it a worthwhile investment. Especially because after two months of regular use, the towel showed no signs of wear, and even felt a bit softer.

It’s made with 100% cotton that has been reinforced at the edges to prevent loose threads or tears at the hem.
During testing, we found the bath sheet both super absorbent and quick-drying when properly hung up. Seven soothing hues are available, all of which are machine washable. After three initial wash cycles, the towels kept their smooth, soft feel with no visible wear and tear. We were impressed by how quickly the towel dried, given how plush it is.
While it looks nice, the decorative texture on the end of the towel wasn’t our favorite since it felt rough on skin. The edging became slightly wavy rather than smooth after two months of use, but not enough to worry that guests might notice. However, with regular use and washing, the towel overall lost some of its softness.

We like that it comes in a huge variety of colors and that you have the option of purchasing an entire set of towels. The sheets are soft and thick, and absorbent and fast-drying despite the thickness. It’s also worth noting that these towels retain their plush look and feel even after being thrown in the wash time and time again.
The only downside to keep in mind is that, despite its quality cotton design, we found that this option can easily snag on rings or necklaces and might fray a bit if you’re not careful to remove jewelry before using.

We noticed the fabric became slightly rougher after the towels were washed, and overall the towels have a rougher texture than the other options we tried. If you’re someone who prefers an ultra-soft, plush towel, this probably isn’t going to be your favorite.
The towels dried in about an hour, so you won’t be running your dryer for hours trying to get them dry enough to stash in the linen cupboard. They also held up to our abrasion and stain tests, leaving no trace of wear afterward. Though the GSM isn’t specified, we felt it was one of the heavier towels we tried.
