It's hard to keep up with IKEA these days—from a bright archival collection to the launch of plant dogs, the affordable home retailer continues providing the people with what they want. Each time there’s a new drop, it’s hard to not jump on it immediately, grabbing the most stylish and functional solutions for all of our home needs. And now, that luxury is extending beyond humans.
IKEA's new UTSÅDD collection is meant to brighten the lives of cats and dogs, just as they brighten ours. The line was created with the help of veterinarians, pet product experts, and, according to IKEA, an “exigent panel of cats and dogs.” With these experts’ help, the team created 29 products to help cats and dogs eat, sleep, play, and hide in style.

“At IKEA, we believe that pets are family," Julia Rosenberg, a Product Design Developer at IKEA of Sweden AB, said in a press release. "Our goal was to develop a collection of products that our cats and dogs love and that their human parents can feel good about and truly enjoy having as part of their home."
The collection includes colorful ceramic food bowls and double-sided, anti-slip placemats so your pets can eat in style—and won’t make your floor a total mess. The bowls come in various sizes and are dishwasher- and refrigerator-safe.
For your furbabies to curl up on, you'll find water-repellent and machine-washable soft blankets and cushy beds. When it’s time to play, whip out the key- and bone-shaped toys for fetch and more. And when your cat feels the need to hide or take a long nap, they can do it in style with the modern tent and rattan-made house.

Of course, it isn’t just about the aesthetics and play: Safety also had to be taken into consideration.
“We formulated protocols and risk assessments based on our research, evaluations of previous pet collections, and input from our partner veterinarians and pet product experts," Rosenberg said. "Our protocols include periodic chemical, mechanical and physical safety tests on all UTSÅDD products." She added that all of the products in this collection have labels and symbols to show you exactly how you can use the product safely and what to do if it breaks.
UTSÅDD is now available at IKEA stores in person and online beginning in April—purrfect timing for a summer of pet-themed fun.
