The Land’s End Premium Supima Cotton Sateen Bed Sheet Set is our top choice for the best sateen sheets. Available in 11 colors and six sizes, there is an option for every type of space, whether you have a cottagecore aesthetic or modern minimalist style. You can purchase the flat sheet, fitted sheet, and pillowcase all separately, or you can buy them together in a set.
After using this sheet set for six months, we continued to be impressed with the feel and quality of these sheets. The sheets felt soft and lightweight, yet sturdy and durable.
We washed these sheets about once a week in a warm cycle, and we were pleased that they didn’t lose their initial softness—in fact, they got softer after each wash, like your favorite t-shirt. We also appreciated that there were no loose threads or snags after using and laundering the sheets.
The sheets fit our bed well, and there wasn’t an excessive amount of fabric. When sleeping with these sheets, we found that we were never too hot or too cool, and they were lightweight and breathable. We were continuously blown away by the luxurious feel of the sheets, and even found ourselves wanting to purchase the sheets for a guest bedroom as well.
“I was blown away by them, and still am. In a market that's so saturated, and by trendy brands at that, it's really cool to discover a tried and true brand excel in this space.” -Better Homes and Gardens Tester
During our lab testing, the 100% cotton sateen sheets earned a perfect score for quality, texture, breathability, and value. The set seemed well constructed and was finished with reinforced seams, and the high quality sheets felt soft and smooth, yet crisp.
As far as temperature regulation, the sheets felt cool to the touch, but quickly warmed up when the tester crawled under them. One tester expressed that they have a tendency to get hot under sheets, but did not experience excessive heat with these sheets.
After washing the sheets in our lab, there was no noticeable shrinkage and no signs of wear, and the lotion stain was completely removed. However, the sheet set did seem to have more visible wrinkles than other sheets that were tested. The fitted sheet did seem a bit large, but we noted this was probably to accommodate various mattress depths.

For those who are looking for a more affordable option, the California Design Den 400 Thread Count 100% Cotton Sheets are our favorite sateen sheets for those on a budget. They are available in eight different patterns, including polka dots, florals, and stripes so there are plenty of options for various bedroom styles. The sheets are sold in a set that includes a fitted sheet, a flat sheet, and two pillowcases.
After using the sheets for a few months, we were impressed with the quality given the lower price point. They felt airy and not too thick, and we found they didn’t necessarily retain body heat, but we felt comfortable underneath them, temperature wise.
We washed these sheets every other week, and they held up well to constant use and frequent laundering. One of our testers unintentionally stained the sheets with jojoba oil, and they were blown away to discover the stain was completely gone after washing.
The sheets did get fairly wrinkled after washing and drying, but some of the wrinkles fell out after the bed was made. The fitted sheet also has labels to indicate the top and bottom, which made it easier and faster to make the bed.
During lab testing, we noted that the quality of the stitching was impressive, and the sheets were bright and crisp. Texture-wise, the sheets weren’t rough or scratchy at all, but weren’t as soft as more luxurious sheets.
After washing, the lotion stain completely came out, and there were no tears, loose threads, pilling, or shrinkage. However, after allowing the sheets to sit for an hour after removing them from the dryer, there were a few wrinkles.
Although we noted it wasn’t nearly as wrinkly as crepe paper, the wrinkles were still noticeable. However, their high quality and affordability make this the best choice for budget-friendly sateen sheets.

If you are looking to add luxurious elegance to your bedroom, the Boll and Branch Signature Hemmed Sheet Set offers buttery softness and comfortable breathability.
The sheet set is available in nine earthy and neutral colors including white, oak, pewter, stone, and mineral. Each set includes a fitted sheet, a flat sheet, and two pillowcases (except for the twin and twin XL set, which only includes one pillowcase).
We tested these sheets in the real world for six months, and the quality of these luxurious sheets remained constant throughout the testing process. Compared to bamboo sheets, these are sturdier and heavier. We appreciated this because we moved around under the sheets, they didn’t get tangled around us.
During our real world testing, we washed this sheet set on a cold, delicate cycle every other week. One of our testers put on lotion every night before getting under these sheets, but we never noticed any lotion stains after washing the sheets. The sheets held up well to frequent laundering, although they were usually a little wrinkly when we pulled them out of the dryer.
We did have a couple of minor complaints after testing this sheet set. Since they are more luxurious and have a higher price tag, we wish there were more high-end features, such as a label to indicate top and bottom and envelope pillowcases.
During our lab testing, the 100% organic cotton sheets received perfect scores for value, quality, texture, and breathability. We found these sheets to have a balanced blend of both softness and heaviness, which made the sheets feel cozy and welcoming.
We were also able to get comfortable temperature-wise without overheating or getting too hot, and noted they could have easily drifted off to sleep within minutes of getting under these sheets.
The sheets did shrink a bit after washing and drying, but the sheets still fit on the bed with no issue. And good news for those who are a bit accident prone—the lotion stain was completely removed after washing the sheets.
Although the price is higher than other options on our list, these sheets are high quality and are extremely well made. If you want to elevate your bedroom to make it feel more like a five-star hotel, these sheets won’t disappoint.

The Parachute Sateen Sheet Set is the best choice if you are looking for a complete set. The set includes a fitted sheet and a pillowcase set, and you have the option to add a top sheet as well. There are four different sizes to choose from: full, queen, king, and California king. The 100% Egyptian cotton sheets are available in five neutral colors including white, cream, sand, light gray, and blush.
After using this sheet set for six months, the sheets held up well. We found that the sheets fit perfectly on the mattress, and there wasn’t an excess of fabric. The sheets feel light, airy, and soft, and the texture remained the same after frequent use and laundering.
We were impressed that tanning lotion stains and glitter came out of the sheets after washing—even green hair dye came out of the pillowcases with ease. The only stain that remained after washing was orange hair dye.
If you tend to get hot at night, these sheets helped keep us at a comfortable temperature at night—we felt sufficiently warm without feeling overheated. We never woke up hot or sweating when using these sheets.
In our testing lab, the results were consistent with our real world testing. We noted that these sheets kept us warm without feeling too hot or heavy, and we didn’t have to move around to create additional airflow.
The sateen sheets also received a perfect score for the texture, which felt soft, silky, and light. When draping the sheets, we found that they hung gracefully and weren’t stiff or heavy, which made them feel elegant and high end.
As far as quality, there were a few loose threads, but this did not seem to impact the performance or overall quality of the sheets. After washing the sheets, the lotion stain wasn’t visible and the color remained consistent.
However, after allowing the sheets to sit in a laundry basket for an hour, the sheets did become fairly wrinkled—you may have to iron these after laundering.

The Riley Sateen Sheet Set is the best option for those looking to add some color to their bedding. The set is available in 10 colors including blush, quartz, plum, jade, and true navy.
The sheets proved to be durable after six months of testing, with no loose threads, snags, or piling. They also proved to be a great year-round bedding option—we used them in the winter and the spring and felt comfortable whether the weather was cold or warm.
While they aren’t the softest sheets we’ve ever tested, they aren’t rough either—they have a balanced crispness to them, and we liked the mid-weight fabric.
The sheets fit the mattress perfectly, and the fitted sheet never popped off the corners of the mattress, despite tossing and turning on the sheets. We also liked that there were labels on the top, bottom, and sides of the sheets, which made it easier to make the bed.
The only issue we had with this sheet set was that it seemed to retain body oils; however, we tested the color slate, which as of the time of publishing, is no longer sold on their website.
The 100% cotton sheets received perfect scores in our lab testing for breathability and durability. Upon initially inspecting the sheets, there were no flaws in the stitching or construction. These sheets felt thicker and more substantial than other sheets he tested. Because of this, the drape was a bit stiffer.
In addition to its breathability and durability, this set also may be ideal for restless sleepers. The top sheet wasn’t clingy, which allowed us to toss and turn without getting tangled.
The corners of the fitted sheet also remained intact despite excessive movement. The sheets did shrink slightly after washing, but they still fit the bed easily.
The lotion stain was completely removed after laundering, but the sheets were fairly wrinkled and had creases from sitting in the laundry basket for an hour. We also noticed there wasn’t much sheen after washing the sheets. However, because of their thicker construction, durability, and color options, they earned high scores.

For six months, we tested this sheet set and we consistently loved how they felt—they were soft, lightweight, and breathable. The sheets also kept us at a comfortable temperature at night without making us too hot or too cold.
We washed them in a cold cycle and found that the more we washed them, the softer they became. The sheets held up well to use and laundering, and there were never any loose threads or snags, indicating that the construction and fabric are durable.
During our lab testing, the Egyptian cotton sheet set earned a perfect rating for its texture, and we loved that the sheets and pillowcase felt soft and smooth against her skin. When we moved around under the sheets, the sheets were smooth and didn’t get caught or tangled.
The sheets were also awarded a perfect score for breathability. We wore jeans and a t-shirt while testing and were pleasantly surprised that the sheets kept her warm and toasty without being uncomfortable.
The sheets did lose sheen after laundering and did shrink, but there was still plenty of material to make the bed. The lotion stain was completely removed, the color was consistent, and there were no visible snags or other flaws.
